Humor

Well, Glenn's oxygen sats were at 88 on Monday, now they are at 74. We were told a few days ago that if he gets into the 60's we would need to start discussing "end of life"- you are never ready, you're just not..no matter what you do or how hard you try to prepare- you are never ready. He cannot talk for very long or even stay awake very long. The nurse tells us his breathing is still labored.
Glenn & I and the hospice nurse along with the grief pastor were having this deep conversation about what Glenn wanted and stuff and Glenn says I have a questions and at this point he really hasn't said too much but yes and no and he says "What are all of you ladies gonna do now cause I have to really go to the bathroom.." we all cracked up. I hope there will never be any situation that we will not deal with using humor-if not I am in trouble.:)

  2. My heart breaks for you and at the same time feels joy for the understanding and the perspective I know you both have.

  3. Reminds me of Bob Hope's comment, "I have seen what a laugh can do. It can transform almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful."
